Pivotal discipline: Presently, School of Urban Construction and Safety Engineering has 1 pivotal discipline, namely Urban Safety Engineering (qualified through acceptance) as designated by Shanghai Municipal Education Commission and 2 pivotal disciplines at the college level (Construction Environment and Energy Application Engineering and Energy and Power Engineering). It is now engaged in construction of Architecture and Engineering Management in an attempt to realize sustainable development and strengthening of 6 majors through disciplinary construction.
