To further broaden the internationalization of the architecture programme and promote its quality enhancement and international accreditation process, at the invitation of our university’s International Exchange Office, Professor Tod Burton, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Technology and Environment at the University of the West of England (UWE), recently visited our university to conduct exchanges and inspections of the architecture programme.

During his stay, Professor Burton toured the architecture laboratory and the construction festival site, held face-to-face discussions with faculty and students, and gained an in-depth understanding of the programme’s distinctive features, teaching models, and student development.
Subsequently, Professor Burton came to the architecture studio, where he carefully observed students’ hand-drawn architectural drawings. He spoke highly of the students’ solid professional skills, innovative design thinking, and commendable professional competence.

After the tour, the two sides held in-depth and detailed discussions on key areas such as higher education programme accreditation, faculty exchange, and joint training. They reached consensus on accelerating the programme accreditation plan and mutual recognition of curriculum systems, and made it clear that they would expedite the international higher education accreditation process for the architecture programme and steadily promote the implementation of joint programme initiatives.
This expert visit from the University of the West of England precisely aligns with the high-quality and international development needs of our architecture programme, injecting new momentum into the next phase of optimizing the talent cultivation system and enhancing the level of education.
During the exchange, Chen Qingchang, Director of the International Exchange Office, Ding Wensheng, Party Secretary of the Faculty of Urban Construction and Ecological Technology, along with faculty representatives of the architecture programme, participated in the meetings.
